IFS Targets Product, Customer Growth
IFS says it is targeting further growth in the aviation maintenance software segment after its acquisition of Canadian MRO software specialist Mxi Technologies last week.
“The primary driver is to combine the strengths of both companies to better serve and grow our position within the global aviation and defence market,” said Graham Grose, director, aerospace and defense center of excellence at IFS, told MRO-Network.com
“We [IFS] want to continue to grow in terms of product capability, customers and organisational scale – so in light of this acquisition, there is a great opportunity to build upon the company’s leadership position in the global asset centric aviation and defence industry.”
The deal, expected during the first quarter of 2017, will grow IFS’ presence in North America through Mxi, whose maintenance software offering is used by airlines including Southwest, Air France and KLM.
He said IFS will continue to invest in its in Mxi’s Maintenix software as well as its own IFS Applications offering but believes there are opportunities to integrate both platforms.
“Operationally we will align our team but we will offer customers an aviation maintenance solution as a best-of-breed or as an end-to-end enterprise solution,” he added.
Grose revealed that IFS had been monitoring Ottawa-headquartered Mxi for some time before last week’s announcement.
