AMES Adds to Nacelle Repair Capabilities
Aerostructures Middle East Services (AMES), the Air France Industries KLM Engineering & Maintenance (AFI KLM E&M) and Safran Nacelles joint venture, has added new engine nacelle services and capabilities to target further growth in the Middle East and Indian peninsula’s airframe component segment.
Dubai-based AMES said the capabilities build on a new FAA certificate and it will now be able to accommodate growing volumes of nacelle MRO work and offer composite repairs on aerostructure parts including radomes, winglets and flight control surfaces.
AMES said the latest services expansion and additional work volumes will lead to an undisclosed number of new jobs in Dubai “during the coming years”.
Founded in 2010, AMES provides services for Safran produced nacelles and thrust reversers on Rolls-Royce’s Trent 700 and Trent 500 engines powering Airbus’ A330 and A340, along with the A320 family’s CFM56 powerplant.
The capabilities also apply to Safran Nacelles’ latest products, including the nacelle system for Airbus’ next-generation jets: the A320neo and A330neo.
The firm also covers nacelle services on the GE90 engines for the 777, and the two engine options for the A380 superjumbo – the GP7200 and the Trent 900.
