Boeing Shanghai Completes Work on First Aeromexico 787
Boeing Shanghai Aviation Services, a joint venture between Boeing, Shanghai Airport Authorities and China Eastern Airlines, has completed maintenance work on the first of three 787 aircraft for Aeromexico.
As part of the agreement, Boeing Shanghai conducted C-checks, an extensive check of the aircraft’s systems and components, and Wi-Fi and cabin modifications at its Shanghai Pudong International Airport facility.
The full scope of work is scheduled to be completed by the end of the year. Boeing Shanghai said the Aeromexico deal marks its expansion into 787 maintenance services with Latin American operators.
The Mexican flag carrier currently operates a fleet of nine 787-8s.
Dermot Swan, CEO of Boeing Shanghai, said: “This contract is another important step forward for Boeing Shanghai’s 787 business expansion and we look forward to a long-term partnership with Aeromexico.”
